Healing for your Heart, Mind & Soul

Stacey Burdette LLPC
I'm not sure that I was drawn to counseling as much as counseling was drawn to me. I have been told many times that I am a good listener and have the ability to find humor in difficult situations.
Our oldest is neurodivergent and we met with many therapists over the years. In my experience, many types of therapies can be effective. In many ways, the relationship you have with your therapist will help you to trust the process when the process is difficult and messy.
When I'm not helping you, I love art, food, coffee and chocolate. I love Jesus and swear a little...a lot. I love to laugh and aspire to help others to see the beauty in the moment through the storms.
Counseling for your Heart, Mind and Soul
"And who knows but that you have come to your position for such a time as this."

Esther 4:14

We are created to be in community and we were created at this time and in this place for a reason.

I specialize in helping my fellow HBIC's (Head Babes In Charge,) to find the balance we sometimes lose while wearing all our hats with our roles as boss, wife, mother and daughter of the King. With external expectations weighing down on you it is easy to wear one of those hats more than you would like, losing connections to your heart, mind and soul.  Using good humor and joy, I help you reconnect and find that balance, allowing you to further excel in work, personal and relational experiences.

Individual Therapy

When you feel like you are spinning your wheels, we can identify the obstacles in your way and create a plan to propel you forward.

Female Relationships

Whether it be mother-daughter, sisters, or best friends, sometimes we need an outside soundboard who can relate and help work through issues.

Stress Management

Emotions can become overwhelming and when they start dictating your life, come talk to me. I can teach you skills to restore your sense of peace and sanity.

Relationship Balance

First and foremost, you can expect to be treated with dignity and respect. You are beginning therapy because something is not quite right...or possibly something is definitely wrong! You are a good person stuck in a bad pattern.

I work in a Strength Based, Solution Focused model. We will look at areas in your life where you are already excelling and build from there. You will learn new skills and alternative ways of thinking. We will mostly stay in the present, although we may need to acknowledge "old business" before moving forward.

Families will learn how to put Mom and Dad back in charge of the family, and learn how to recreate togetherness.
That really depends our your goals and your motivation. Typically I work in cycles of 10 sessions or less. After 10 sessions, I recommend we take a break for 4-8 weeks to give you a chance to practice your new skills on your own. If you decided to come back, we will work on new goals.

You are better equipped to understand what your body and your family needs than an insurance company.

You deserve privacy.

A mental health diagnosis can sometimes end careers or make getting insurance difficult.

These are a few of the reasons that I have chosen not to accept insurance.
No. If you or your family member has a diagnosis and you find it helpful we can work within that framework to reduce symptoms. Typically, strengthening the family unit reduces the need for the behavior that has been pathologized.

I also have a 2 year degree in interior design from an art school in Chicago. While design was not the right career for me, I believe that great counseling is an art. I love using creativity and laughter to help clients find the right path forward.
